Phase 1

Strategy & Planning

Straight off the back of delivering a website for their sister business, Removal Boxes Direct, the client approached us to create a new website solution for Takeaway Packaging. The original brief was to create an e-commerce platform for their clients to purchase packaging for various foods and drinks e.g. coffee cups and pizza boxes for cafes and restaurants.

This was to be delivered over two phases: first we needed to build an interactive product-builder where clients could add their own branding to existing plain products. In the second phase, we added volume ordering of the plain packaging without branding

The client made it clear from the outset that SEO was a priority so with this in mind, we set about planning the UX, constructing the site architecture and designing concepts.

Phase 2

Design & Development

Following research into successful coffee brands and what they might be looking for in a packaging supplier, we designed each unique page of the new website to win their business. Careful consideration was given to the priority of content to ensure search engine-friendly phrases were utilised in headings and sub-headings.

The development process was a challenge as there were many different aspects to consider, including the construction of an intuitive product builder for end-users to add their branding to products. We were able to implement while ensuring page load times didn’t suffer from the high-res imagery and uploading of files.

Phase one was successfully completed on time and on budget and phase two shortly followed suit with the addition of 87 plain packaging products, all optimised for search.

Phase 3

Six month website review

During the first 6 months of the new website being in place, public awareness regarding the use of plastic within packaging grew. The client made a conscious decision to change their overall strategy and wanted to be seen as a champion of eco-friendly products.

We immediately recognised an issue with their new website – it utilised a lot of dark colours, not exactly a palette you would associate with an eco-friendly company!

Despite only having designed and launched 6 months prior as well as the client being happy with the new site, we decided it was critical for their business that we re-skinned the website and went back to the design team to create a fresh style that suited the new business direction. The result was a much greener (literally) and softer look and feel, all included as part of our dedicated service to the client’s business interests.

Phase 4

Continue to perform

After completely refreshing the website just 6 months in, the client was delighted with how the service was progressing. Since then we have continued to work closely with the client to drive traffc from search engines. This included the addition of a blogging service where our team devised quarterly content plans in-line with seasonal trends. Based on how research showing what potential clients might be searching for, we created original articles for their blog and distributed them across their social channels.

The on-site optimisation, together with the creation and distribution of quality content resulted in outstanding results in the form of increased traffc, specifically from search engines.

  • "Ri Web are very effcient and quick at getting back to you. With other web developers if you asked for something they saw it as a problem and gave a long reason why they can’t do it but with Ri Web it is no problem.”

The websites they have designed for us are an effective platform for lead generation.”
