Phase 1

Research & Strategy

Having worked closely with Eight Ray Music director, Jayson Jaurigue for over 4 years, we already had a very deep understanding of his business. During an initial meeting, the client advised the business was changing strategy and wanted to make a push into the luxury and corporate markets. This created a brief for us to re-position the brand as the go-to agency for businesses in this sector.

We carried out in-depth research into brands that were 'getting it right' in the luxury market in the automotive, fashion, sport and hospitality sectors as these companies were winning the types of contracts that the client was targeting. This research, together with the client’s USPs created the basis for our UX strategy which was developed to achieve two primary objectives; drive traffic to the acts profiles and client case studies to ultimately generate enquiries.

Phase 2

Planning & Design

Utilising the UX guide, we created a style guide which set-out the typography, colour, imagery and videography styles we would utilise throughout the new website. We then designed the site architecture which would achieve the objectives set-out in phase one. Each page within the site map was assigned an individual objective as part of the overall user journey and this objective set the priority guide for the content on that page.

Next, we created design concepts which were then presented to the client together with the style guide, site map and page priority guides. We discussed how we had come to every decision and challenged the client’s requests to make changes which we felt decreased the overall quality of the site.

Phase 3

Development & Delivery

Our team developed the website in line with the designs and then carried out in-depth testing to ensure the site performed just as well on desktop devices as on mobiles and tablets. Finally, we optimised the new website to be found on search engines for the key phrases utilised within each page as well as ensuring every page will format correctly when shared on social channels like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

Upon sign-off from the client, the new website was successfully deployed at which point we implemented 301 URL redirects to retain previous SEO performance and then requested re-crawling from Google to ensure their rankings were up-to-date.

Phase 4

Ongoing Improvements

The initial response to the new website was fantastic and all qualitative metrics were showing improvement. The website performance dashboard provided the data required for the client to make other marketing related decisions for the business as a whole.

Throughout the course of the client's 24 month agreement, we undertook several website refreshes to ensure the look and feel was always fresh and returning users were presented with new content. These refreshes continue to deliver improvements to the bounce rate, pages/session and session duration, ensuring the overall user experience just gets better over time.

  • "Two years ago we went from being a local music agency, to my vision of being able to make the transition from local to international and doing more work in London and being more premium. That was all down to improving the website and the design to make it more luxury. Ri Web were key in that process.”
