Loddon Brewery have been brewing award-winning beer since 2003, making them one of Britain’s most established independent breweries.

The family-run team produce many ales for pubs in the Thames Valley as well as selling direct from their tap room and website.

Phase 1

Understading & Planning

Loddon Brewery had ambitious plans for their business and saw their website as critical to the success of reaching their goals. This produced an exciting brief for our team to create a new website that matched the client’s vision and would grow and evolve in-line with the business’s on-going requirements.

Our team decided to try and bring the fantastic taste of Loddon’s beers to life through their new website. To achieve this, we planned individual beer pages with animated ‘stats bars’ that visually represented the different flavour combinations that created each beer’s unique taste.

Phase 2

Initial Build

To create a seamless connection between the offine experience in pubs and the online experience on the new website, we utilised the recognisable bold colours within each beer’s pump clip on the relevant beer’s page.

To showcase the personality of the brand, our team decided to lead with ‘Great Beer, 15 Years in the Making’ overlaid on a jovial, dynamic video background as the fi rst thing that users would see. Adding to this and to ensure the website was always fresh with content, we implemented a dynamic Twitter feed overlaid on a looping video of beer bubbles in the footer.

Phase 3

Further Development

The next major phase of development requirement was to introduce an ecommerce facility to the website where users could purchase beer and other merchandise as well as join the ‘beer club’ - an innovative idea from Loddon to engage their raving fans on a regular basis.

As a direct result of implementing the new e-commerce platform, Loddon have seen an increase of over 1200% in consistent revenue from their online activities.

Phase 4

Ongoing Analysis

Now in the 4th year of our relationship with Loddon Brewery, we continue to provide regular website maintenance and data insights as well as full website audits and improvements.

At the time of writing, we are about to implement the 4th iteration to the site which will include a full UX review, improved page designs and the implementation of additional services which the client now provides.
