Challenge: Deliver a website that elevates the brand
Eight Ray Music is a well-established agent for musicians and bands delivering sensational performances in the events and hospitality industry.
Amongst their clients are some big names including The Dorchester Group, Chanel, Four Seasons Hotels, The Savoy, Arsenal Football Club and Silverstone so creating a great first impression is absolutely imperative.
Over the years as technologies changed and customers expectations grew Eight Ray’s existing site was falling behind the curve and had become unrepresentative of the company and its brand.
The discovery phase uncovered 5 specific ‘ideal clients’ within the Events & Hospitality industry that the site had to appeal to, while also providing fantastic user experiences and improving conversion rates.
Of equal importance was to reflect Eight Ray’s unique brand in an innovative, cool contemporary style that would lead to greater lead generation.
I could not recommend them anymore if you want a website that not only looks amazing but also converts leads and you feel looked after as a client.

Delivered: Luxurious Design and an Enjoyable User Experience
The design was really important and we created something funky, fun and colourful. It’s classy too with clean backgrounds and a beautiful combination of a very modern sans serif font (the recently released Space Grotesk) for headlines and an easy-to-read traditional font (Brawler) for body copy.
The site has to perform multiple tasks so the navigation is clear and simple with a top-level menu that is simple to follow. You can be anywhere you need to be within two clicks – for the various levels of event organisers the site needs to reach, this is really important. But it does mean the content has to be easy to follow and accessible too – so the design and layout of text, images, video and buttons takes visitors on a logical journey, creating a great user experience.
Results: Post Pandemic Positivity
At the time of writing, in peak Covid-19 the events industry has been devastated, yet Eight Ray has been innovative in creating the Henley Lockdown Festival in May 2020 (with our help on the website) and regularly highlighting performers on the Sounds Purple stream of interviews and sessions – all easily accessible on the site.
Despite the crisis the new Eight Ray site comprehensively outperforms the previous version with a reduction in bounce rate of 17% and improvements of 7% in Session Duration, 26% in pages per session and, over 80% in load time/speed.
