Digital & Technology UK Blog Award Winner 2016!

We’re incredibly proud to announce that the Ri Web Blog has won the 2016 UK Blog Award in the Digital and Technology category.

Having also been ‘Highly Commended’ in the PR, Media, Marketing and Communications category, we’re all extremely pleased to have been recognised for our hard work.

Over 2000 blogs were entered into this year’s UK Blog Awards, with only ten making it to the final in each category, so we felt simply reaching the finals was an achievement.

As many of you know (thank you), to reach the final ten the Ri Web Blog was entered into a public vote and a whopping 79,000 votes were cast in total!

After that, two expert judges analysed the blog based on design, content, usability, marketing and style.

The digital category Judges Merinda Peppard, Head of Marketing at Hootsuite, and Carrie Barclay, the Head of Editorial at the Government Digital Service, so I guess we owe them both a big thank you for awarding the trophy to the Ri Web Blog!

“Ri Web know how to keep things simple. Their clean, professional design lends itself to a good reader journey, and their use of images make their content enticing. These guys know how to write for the web, keeping their sentences short and punchy. They make sure they’re offering their readers genuine, useful advice and information, and try to stand out from the crowd.”

Carrie Barclay, Head of Editorial at The Government Digital Service and UK Blog Award Digital & Technology category Judge

The whole team travelled to Westminster’s Park Plaza Hotel last Friday night for the awards ceremony. With a Roald Dahl ‘BFG’ style theme, free-flowing booze and packed full of bloggers and journalists from a variety of niches, it was a brilliant evening.

So thank you to the UK Blog Awards Team and the awards Founder, Gemma Newton, for putting on a fantastic event.

Finally, we would like to thank all of you who voted for us during the initial stages of the competition. Your support enabled us to compete for the award and we are very grateful.

If you would like to read a more detailed review of the event, our friends at the Henley Herald were kind enough to write up a superb review of it all!

Stay tuned to the blog because this is only the beginning. Over the next few weeks, we will be unveiling our first e-book: The Real Life Startup Series, as well as providing our usual weekly articles!

Please feel free to get in touch if there’s anything you would like to see covered in the blog!
